When I started on this job in 1993 this 1875 farmhouse was stripped down to bare walls. The first couple of times up for the prewire, Matt Early and I tried sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor — in November. After trying and failing to get to sleep, we worked through the night.
Matt went on to found Residential Media System, in Lancaster, PA. With his success he will never have to sleep on the floor again.
Now when I go to Claverack for a periodic "tune up" I'm treated like a king; sleeping in beautifully furnished rooms and taken to the best restaurants where I avail myself of this client's extensive knowledge of wine. On the last visit, I was taken to a party of 700 people overlooking the Hudson — I think he introduced me to 500 of them.
